In this tutorial, you will know how to update your Themes in WordPress. It’s very important to check updates for your Themes, Plugins, and WordPress Version. Because all the updates bring improved and bug fixed version for your blog software’s. I hope you will find it very easy to update your theme by following the few steps below:
Step 1: Login to your Dashboard.
Step 2: On the left just below the Dashboard after Home hover over Update button. Click on > Updates.
Step 3: It will open Update Page for you. You can check your WordPress Version, Plugin and Themes update status from here.
Step 4: You can see for my blog (in the Image) WordPress Version and all Plugins are already updated. But, it requires the Theme to be updated. So, select the Theme you want to update and Click on > Update Themes.
Step 5: Now wait for a while your themes start to get updated. Within a moment, Theme will be updated to the latest version and you will see a notification “all the updates have been completed” on the screen.
Step 6: Great work done. Now, you can either Return to you Themes page or Return to WordPress Updates page to see what’s new in your latest Theme and what problems are fixed.
“Please Note: I am using Genesis Theme for my blog. If you are also using the same then if you have made any customization’s to your parent Genesis theme then files will be lost. Please consider using child themes for modifications.”
